Brief
Hamilton Park Racecourse required a new bespoke modular facility to support updated British Horseracing Authority standards for jockey welfare.
With space within the existing Weighing Room limited, SiBCAS was appointed to supply and install a new Permaspace facility incorporating a jockeys’ canteen, warm-up area, physiotherapy room, WC and drug testing room. The project also included site investigations, local authority approvals, foundations, drainage, service enabling works, ramps and steps.

Challenges
A key challenge was maximising the available footprint adjacent to the existing Weighing Room while maintaining essential circulation space around the facility.
The programme was also critical, with site works commencing in early March and the completed facility required ahead of Hamilton Park’s new racing season. Careful planning and coordination were therefore essential to ensure the building was delivered, installed and fully operational within the required timeframe.
Solution
SiBCAS delivered a bespoke modular solution designed around the available space and the specific welfare requirements of Hamilton Park’s jockeys.
During the project, the specification for the access ramp and steps was changed from a prefabricated steel system to an in-situ concrete and powder-coated steel solution. This provided a successful alternative that met the requirements of the facility and offers a solution that could be adopted on future projects.
Outcome
The new facility was successfully completed on time and on budget, providing Hamilton Park with a modern, dedicated environment designed to support jockey welfare.
As well as providing enhanced facilities on racedays, the flexible space can be used by the Hamilton Park team throughout the year, adding longer-term value beyond its primary function.
