– Modular Construction Classroom.
SiBCAS were asked to supply and install a single storey, double Modular Construction Classroom (without toilets) with associated groundworks and service connections plus remedial works, at Toner Avenue Primary School, South Tyneside in the North East of England.
Size: 50’x 32’ comprising of 5 no modular building sections.
Timescale: 4 week install, 80 week hire period.
2 modular construction classrooms each with entrance lobby and cloak area, access steps and landing.
Having conducted a site specific survey, it was decided that the only suitable route for delivering the portable buildings, was through a car park and over playing fields. To prevent vehicles/crane bogging down on the grass, trackway was installed prior to the delivery. This provided a temporary roadway. As access was very tight, all modular buildings needed to be delivered on SiBCAS rigid vehicles, as there was no room for articulated vehicles on site.
Having carried out a lot of preparation regarding the delivery, all of the modular buildings were delivered as per the delivery schedule and without incident. Once the modular classrooms were installed, the trackway was lifted to allow the grass to recover. After a couple of weeks, you would never know that trackway had been used.
