Brims Construction – New Seaham Academy – County Durham
THE BRIEF AND METHODOLOGY:
New Seaham Academy – an outstanding school in the North East of England, were looking to replace an old dilapidated portable building, which was used as a music room for pupils. Local contractor Brims Construction appointed SiBCAS to supply and install a new high quality modular building which was to be clad in red western cedar.

Size: Hire – 30’ x 30’ (9.15m x 9.15m)
Timescale: Overall Project 4 weeks on site
BUILDING USE
Modular classroom to be used as a music room
CHALLENGES
The existing pre-fabricated modular building was demolished and removed from site, new concrete foundations were required to accommodate the proposed new modular building, with upgrade to all incoming services. Access to school premises was very tight, with overhead telecom wiring being removed to allow the installation of the modular classroom via crane and articulated vehicles.
OUTCOME
Working in close liaison with Brims Construction, SiBCAS delivered, installed and commissioned a newly refurbished music room within budget and timescale. Both Brims Construction and the Head Teacher of the School passed very positive comments on the finished product and professional attributes provided by SiBCAS.
